Willard Carroll Smith II is an American actor, producer, songwriter, and rapper. He is an executive producer on Peacock's modern-day reinterpretation, Bel-Air.

Biography[]

Also known by his stage name The Fresh Prince, Smith has many accolades, most notably four Grammy Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and two Academy Award nominations. Prior to becoming an actor, he was a hip-hop artist alongside DJ Jazzy Jeff, with whom he released five albums and made the US Billboard Hot 100. Smith also released several solo albums, including Big Willie Style, Willennium, and Born to Reign.

However, it wasn't until his fictionalized self-portrayal in the 1990s sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air that he would be subject to greater fame. From there, an ever-growing acting career took shape. As The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air neared the end, Smith would star in the 1995 action film Bad Boys as Mike Lowrey, which spawned two sequels, as well as a spin-off series. Some of Smith's most notable acting credits include Independence Day, I, Robot, Hancock, The Pursuit of Happyness, I Am Legend, and Suicide Squad.
