Carla Banks-Waddles is a co-executive producer and the appointed showrunner of Peacock's modern-day reinterpretation, Bel-Air. She replaces T.J. Brady and Rasheed Newson as showrunner from Season 2 onward due to creative differences after the duo stepped down.[1]

Biography[]

A Detroit native and a USC graduate, Banks-Waddles has been working in television since the early 2000s; she got her start interning on the NBC sitcom For Your Love created by Yvette Lee Bowser. After completing her MFA at the School of Cinematic Arts, she was accepted into the Warner Bros. Writing Workshop, at which point, she landed her first staff writing job on the aforementioned sitcom. She's also written and produced for notable series such as That's So Raven, Half & Half, The Fresh Beat Band, Let's Stay Together, The Soul Man, and Truth Be Told. In 2019, she joined NBC's Good Girls dramedy as a writer and executive producer.
